Children's Centres

There are nine Children's Centres across Portsmouth that support parents-to-be and families with children aged 0 - 5 with a range of high quality services.

Our early years shape how we are as adults and the quality of services available through Children's Centres aim to make sure all children have the best possible start in life.

Children's Centres offer a range of support from a variety of different organisations, including the council, the NHS, Job Centre Plus and voluntary sector organisations, including; Home Start and the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

The centres offer facilities such as stay and play sessions for children and their parents/carers, singing groups, sensory sessions and dads groups. Staff also visit our most vulnerable families in their own homes and run groups in community venues.

Health services such as Child Health Clinics, Midwife Clinics and Child Development Checks are run from Children's Centre venues as well as Breastfeeding Support Groups and sessions on the introduction to solid foods.
