Media Centre

A main role of the marketing, communications and engagement team is to work with the media by responding to enquiries about major health issues of the day.

We provide news and information on all of NHS Portsmouth CCG's key decisions and activities – by writing and distributing news releases and statements to targeted media, including the trade press, and by proactively encouraging the media to help us engage with residents in the city.

We offer professional advice on media-handling issues, write communication strategies, organise interviews, photocalls and news conferences, and keep our senior managers and non-executive directors in touch with the issues making the news.  We’re also responsible for internal communications.

Corporate Communications is the first port of call for media enquiries. We will either respond to your enquiry direct or arrange interviews with our staff. Our media policy is to be:

  • Open
  • Honest
  • Transparent
  • Proactive
  • Helpful by facilitating all reasonable requests.

We will:

  • Respond as quickly and effectively as possible to your enquiry
  • Abide by data protection and other laws concerning the rights of our patients and our staff as employees
  • Respect the confidential nature of information retained by NHS Portsmouth on individual cases or other issues which are commercially sensitive.
