NHS event on plans for the future - Portsmouth CCG

NHS event on plans for the future

The NHS in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight is holding a series of events across the county, to discuss plans for the future of health and care.

Locally, there is a drop-in event running between 4-7pm on Wednesday, 16 October 2019, at the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel, to discuss plans for the future of health and care.

This event is being run on behalf of the NHS to talk with patients, staff and stakeholders about our responses to the commitments set out in the national NHS Long Term Plan – the opportunities available to us, the challenges we face, and what people have told us needs to change.

Anyone is welcome to join us at any time during the three-hour session. There, we will describe our plans for the future on topics such as mental health, prevention, cancer and GP services, maintaining wellbeing, and ask people for their feedback.

The series of events across the county follow a survey organised by our partners Healthwatch – we received about 700 responses, so many thanks to all those who took the time to take part. Feedback themes included a willingness among people to improve their own health and wellbeing, but a call for more support to be able to do so, and a desire to embrace technology without losing sight of the importance of face-to-face interaction, when needed.

All of this work will feed into the development of the long-term plan for the NHS in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, which is due to be completed in November. This will form the basis for the planning of health and care services over the next few years.

In order to attend this free event please register your interest at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/74870330173.

We hope to see you there.
