Dr Linda Collie, clinical lead for NHS Portsmouth CCG, said:
“The inspectors said that hospital staff should be proud of the improvements they have made, and I would heartily agree.
“They work tremendously hard, often in very difficult circumstances, and it is to their absolute credit that inspectors recognised the care and respect that staff gave to their patients, even when they are under such pressure.
“The report is hugely encouraging, but there are still areas which must be addressed and as commissioners we will continue to work with the Trust to deliver the additional improvements that everybody wants to see. Progress is undoubtedly being made, but I think we all know that emergency care, in particular, is still a real challenge and all parts of the local health and care system have a role to play in ensuring patients get the best possible experience.”
